Toeroek Associates, Inc. is currently seeking a full time IT Support/Data Entry Clerk in our Dallas, TX office.
Duties:• Troubleshoots with staff on software or hardware related issues. Repairs and maintains computer terminals as needed. Maintains and develop operations maintenance software and database products. Enters data into a computerized tracking/case management system by performing the following duties:
• Troubleshoots with users on software and operating system issues.
• Diagnoses and repairs computer systems, scanners, and other peripheral devices.
• Replaces hard drives, network cards, graphics cards, power supplies and other components as needed.
• Maintains an inventory of equipment.
• Maintains, expands and develops software utilities (mostly written in C#).
• Updates and maintains database products, mostly in Access (with VBA and SQL queries).
• Familiar with Excel features and formulas to offer best practices to end users.
• Keeps track of received data and source documents.
• Prepares and sorts source documents, and identifies and interprets data to be entered.
• Contacts preparers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
• Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer following screen to detect errors.
• Makes necessary corrections to information entered.
• Complies, sorts, and verifies accuracy of data to be entered.
• Keeps record of work completed.
• Receives and responds to inquiries from EPA including for environmental enforcement cases, Freedom of Information Act requests, Congressional inquiries, Government Accountability Office Inquiries, Administrative Record generation and other special collections.
• Transmits entered information into database.
• Performs data entry as needed.
• Prepares documents for scanning and scan documents for conversion into electronic image format.
• Performs quality control checks on data and corrects erroneous information in accordance with established procedures.
• Prepares reports to supervisor on data entry and data changes as required.
• Follows procedures for handling and maintaining evidence and chain of custody reports.

Excellent Excel skills, good verbal and written communication and ability to follow directions.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in computer related filed with at least two years of relevant work experience, or a high school diploma with at least five years of relevant work experience.

Necessary skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Must be able to work independently to troubleshoot and diagnose issues as they arise, as support will often result in significant downtime.
• Candidates should be well versed in software and hardware troubleshooting and repairs, have a good foundation with computer programming, and have a grasp of relational database systems and structured Query Language.
Working Conditions: The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finer, handle, and feel and be able to talk or hear.
